Distinguished Researcher
Dr. Debadeepta Dey is a Distinguished Researcher at DataRobot, where he leads dual-purpose strategic research initiatives. These initiatives focus on advancing the fundamental state-of-the-art in Deep Learning and Generative AI, while also solving pervasive problems faced by DataRobot’s customers, with the goal of enabling them to derive value from AI. He completed his PhD in AI and Robotics from The Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University in 2015. From 2015 to 2024, he was a researcher at Microsoft Research. His primary research interests include Reinforcement Learning, AutoML, Neural Architecture Search, and high-dimensional planning. He regularly serves as Area Chair at ICML, NeurIPS, and ICLR, and has published over 30 papers in top-tier AI and Robotics journals and conferences. His work has been recognized with a Best Paper of the Year Shortlist nomination at the International Journal of Robotics Research.
